DEATH NOTE: I AM L – Live Action Short Film

This Death Note inspired live action short film was created as part of a New York Film Academy filmmaking project focused on continuity in cinematography and shot composition. The concept explores a prequel introduction to Detective L (L Lawliet), imagining the mysterious investigator before the famous Kira investigation. The film was shot using the DJI Ronin 4D cinema camera system with Sony E-mount lenses (25mm–50mm) to experiment with dynamic camera movement, cinematic lighting, and visual storytelling. The goal was to test continuity between shots while building a stylized atmosphere inspired by the psychological tone of the original Death Note anime and manga. Filmed on location in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York, this project was produced with a New York Film Academy crew as part of a collaborative filmmaking exercise.
