I’ve heard these words a few times in my life. Sometimes directed at me. Sometimes positively, and lots of times negatively. In this case we are talking about Wonderland Dreams in New York by the artist Alexa Meade. This is one of those venues where everyone brings their camera to shoot up their instagrams with colorful shit.

But dont just look at it like that because then you’ll miss that wonderful glory of the artistic expression behind this. You pay your admission fee and you’re led down some steps of rainbow colors to the Wonderland Dreams experience. It is an artistic take on Alice in Wonderland where Alexa Meade has carefully constructed some pop up photo ops for visitors who want a taste of the chaos.

Every room has been thought out to represent something out of the Alice in Wonderland book. It is meant to be a fun and a colorful experience to draw in families and fans of the art style. Mostly it is a non stop shutter fest where if you’re carelessly walking around minding your own business, don’t be surprised that you will be asked to take some photos of people who want to be in those crazy backdrops.

I captured what I could during my walkthrough and these photos are in no particular order of what that experience is like. If you’re a fan of Alexa Meade or Alice in Wonderland, I’d recommend you taking the time to see this during the weekday around noon. Hardly a soul in sight, and you’ll practically have the place all to yourself.
